subject: Packaging Miracles
When we engaged Rob a few weeks ago, I was expecting to use our existing wooden crates for our first shipments and then refine the product for later. In less than two weeks Rob delivered a crate, that I know beats the shipping crates of Danek, VTI and Zeiss (I yet have to have a closer look at BrainLab's). Rob went to Canada to make sure we get our shipping crates on time: They will be here next Monday. In the meantime he was able to get the package design validated, tested and redesigned! Thanks Rob!!

PS: The name of the supplier Rob found : "Big Deal" !! :-)

I was on a tour where all their road cases were your wooden half-coffins and full-coffins. Excellent cases I might add. One day during a show, our 40 yard garbage bin was being replaced next to the production trailer. It is still unknown how, but a half-coffin managed to wheel itself underneath the bin unaware to the driver. When he dropped the bin it landed right on the road case and tipped over the garbage bin! I couldn't see the case anymore and assumed it was firewood. After further inspection the only damage that had occured was a caved in caster (not a clean break) and the case lid looked like a "V" but was still in one piece. This was all easily repaired with metal strapping. I just wanted to say that you make an excellent product and will enjoy my new work box that you will be making for me.
Thank you

Hey, I got the case for my two small Premier Signia drums and their associated hardware.
Gosh...It's A BEAUT!!
I mean.....I could send this thing air freight to Africa, and they could use it as protection in their tribal wars, for goodness sake!

ATA Blues - Flight Case Claims Not Always What They Seem

The term ATA flight case generally is used to refer to a reusable shipping container that has been approved for air transport by the Big Deal ATA 300 Cat. I Flight CaseAir Transport Association of America. The use of the term ATA Flight Case can be somewhat misleading because there are many specifications designated by the ATA for reusable shipping containers. An ATA Specification 300 Category II container, for instance, is designed to have a life of only 10 trips. Big Deal Cases have undergone compliance testing for ATA Specification 300 Category I, which specifies containers designed to withstand at least 100 trips. Consumers should be careful to request information on rating, testing and specifications from the manufacturer. Often products advertised as Flight Cases are Category II "short life reusable shipping containers". As well, consumers should be cautious when considering cases offered as "ATA Style Flight Cases," as the design and construction have probably not been tested. It is worth asking a few questions before making a purchase decision. Please see our Flight Case page for more information.

Case Studies

Transparent PolyCarb. CaseEach day you go to work. Your bags get opened and searched. You spend a day at the office. Your bags get opened and searched. You go home... For some this is a daily routine that causes great inconvenience and lost time, although it serves an understandable purpose. When you carry a large amount of equipment and paperwork back and forth to the office, this becomes even more of a problem.

When an employee of the National Archives in Washington, D.C. called us looking for a solution to this problem; we responded with a case constructed of high strength transparent polycarbonate.

A simple solution to a not-so-simple problem. As a custom manufacturer we can do that. Although transparent cases certainly are not the norm Big Deal Custom Casings thrives on the opportunity to make daily life a little bit easier for our customers.
